If you are interested in setting up or changing an integration, please reach out to our support team (productsupport@visibilitysoftware.com) for assistance.

Page Location: Admin > Links > Pre-Defined > Employment Background Investigation

This feature allows information to be passed from Cyber Recruiter to Employment Background Investigation (EBI) to initiate a background request.

Before you can send applicant information to EBI, the functionality must be enabled in Cyber Recruiter Admin first and information issues by EBI will be needed. By default, EBI is not enabled. In order to turn this feature on, login as a user with admin rights  to the page specified above.

Before setting up the integration to EBI, if motor vehicle checks will be performed, be sure to set a miscellaneous field in the Applicant file where this information will be stored.  The setup of the EBI integration allows for mapping of this information but the field must first be defined.

Basic Setup

Enter the following pieces of information BEFORE adding in users who will be able to access this feature.  Click the 'Save Changes' icon to save the basic setup prior to continuing.

Tab Field What to Enter?  EBI Issued
General Enabled Set this field to Yes to turn on this feature.
General Show Demographics Page First  Set this field to Yes to have the demographics page display as the first page of the submittal process.
General EBI URL

This is the URL of where the applicant information is being sent.

The URL is currently https://justone.ebiinc.com/cgi-bin/pub/researcherxml but could change in the future.

Yes
General Acct Code The identification code/number specific to only your company.  Yes
Motor Vehicle Check Driver's License Number This is a drop-down field which maps an applicant misc field to this field. For example, if applicant misc 1 is capturing a driver's license number then here in the setup, you could map that applicant misc 1 field to this field so that when you initiate a background check, that information is pulled from the applicant's file to EBI for consideration.  No
Motor Vehicle Check State/Province This is a drop-down field which maps an applicant misc field to this field. For example, if applicant misc 1 is capturing a driver's license state then here in the setup, you could map that applicant misc 1 field to this field so that when you initiate a background check, that information is pulled from the applicant's file to EBI for consideration.  No

User Access

User accounts should be added for anyone doing a submission to EBI.

  • If your EBI account has only ONE log-in to EBI system, each record in Cyber Recruiter will have the same User Name and Password combination and the mapping to the Cyber Recruiter user is only used to provide access to the EBI page in the applicant record.
  • If your EBI account has more than one log-in to the EBI system, the User Name and Password will be unique to the Cyber Recruiter login.  In this case the mapping will allow for access to the EBI page in the applicant record AND will track the submission and package options in the EBI system.

Press the 'Add new record' link to add new users who will be able to submit background checks for EBI.  Once a user has been added, press the to make a change to the record or the to remove the record from the list of approved users.

Field To to Enter?  EBI Issued
User Select the user of Cyber Recruiter from the drop-down list of users.  This maps the user of EBI to the user of Cyber Recruiter so when this person logs in, he/she can access the EBI page.
User Name A user name specific to this user. Yes
Password Password for this user (this is NOT the Cyber Recruiter password)     Yes

NOTE: If you have not properly filled out the user access fields (ex: your password is wrong) you will NOT be able to see packages when sending to EBI.
