Application Questions (Applicant View)

Page Location: Admin > Website > Career Portal

This page controls the view of the information by applicants and employees using the Self Service module.  Questions highlighted on this page are not necessarily viewable to the applicant during the job application process. 

General Settings

Field Purpose
Title Enter a caption to have the page display a different title on the Self Service Portal left-hand navigation.
... available for Applicants? Set to YES to make this page appear for Applicants. (Anyone who does NOT have an Overall Status = HIRED)
Update or View Only? (Applicant Access) Select what the Applicant can do on this page. View (only see information) or Update (can edit and delete information).

NOTE: If the Task feature is being used, it is recommended that Update access be assigned to this page so the applicant will be able to add and update the information when a task is assigned. 
... available for Employees? Set to YES to make this page appear for Employees. (Anyone with the Overall Status = HIRED)

Instructional Message Type instructions for the page and/or action to be taken. These instructions are displayed to the Applicant/Employee when they are on this page in the Self Service.

Question Selection

Highlight the question(s) which should be displayed to the Applicant/Employee in the Self Service view.  Questions do NOT have to be marked as Public in the setup of the question in order to be highlighted on this page and displayed to the Applicant in the Self Service module. 

Two types of questions can be presented to the applicant in the Self Service view.

Standard Application Questions
Standard Application Questions (with the exception of Referral Source, Desired Salary and Position Desired) cannot be included in the Online Application process; however, most of the fields which are activated on the Miscellaneous > General page of the Applicant section of Page Builder can be displayed to this page.  If a field is activated via Page Builder and displayed on the User's view of the Application, then the question can be displayed to the Applicant and an answer collected via the Self Service page.  The wording for the question is hard-coded and cannot be changed.

Referral Source and Position Desired are not fields which appear in this section of Self Service but are displayed on the Contact Information page.

Custom Application Questions 
Custom Application Questions are unique to each organization and are set up in the Page Builder > Applicant > Application Questions section.  Any question which is added into the system can be displayed in the Self Service view regardless of whether the question is marked as 'Public' in the setup of the question.
